Miss Universe 2008 - Who Was Your Bet ?

I don't have a particular favorite since I didn't actually monitor the pageant from the start until the coronation night, but just for the sake of putting up this information, here is my post about it:

Miss Venezuela

Miss Venezuela bagged the 2008 Miss Universe title. Dayana Mendoza bested 79 other Miss Universe Contestants. She is now the 57th Miss Universe and she was crowned at the Crown Convention Center, where the pageant was held only hours ago. The Center can be found at Diamond Bay Resort in Nha Trang, Vietnam. The outgoing Miss Universe titleholder was Miss Japan, Riyo.

The other four contestants who made it to the top 5 are:

• Miss Colombia -Taliana Vargas
• Miss Dominican Republic - Marianne Cruz Gonzalez
• Miss Mexico - Elisa Najera
• Miss Russia - Vera Krasova

Miss Thailand won the Miss Universe 2008 Best In National Costume, while the award Miss Congeniality Universe award went to Miss El Salvador, Miss Rebeca Moreno.

Our very own Miss Philippines Jennifer Barrientos didn't make it, but we congratulate her for just making it to the prestigious pageant.
